Climatic changes from day to day show how much it is important to timely plan measures and activities.
Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjić today was talking to International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) delegation for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
IFAD’s director for BiH Roberto Longo and an expert for environment Renaud Colmant made Minister Hrnjic aware of the current projects that IFAD is implementing in the area of our country.
As it was communicated from Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry there were discussions about Rural Enterprises and Agricultural Development Project (READP) intended for poverty alleviation in rural areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as a proposal of a new project that will have focus on increasing resilience to climate changes in agricultural sector of BiH.
– Climatic changes from day to day show how much it is important to timely plan measures and activities that will aim at increasing resilience to these changes when the agricultural sector is concerned. Regarding that, it was expressed a full support to these activities as well as the existing project intended for poverty alleviation in rural areas, it was said by the Minister Hrnjić.
Director of PCU under Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Mr Halil Omanović, was also present at the today’s meeting.
IFAD Mission that is currently staying in Bosnia and Herzegovina will hold a series of meetings with representatives of the relevant institutions aiming at creating design of Concept Note for the Project titled “Increasing Resilience to Climate Changes in Agricultural Sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina” that grant funds amounting to 10 million dollars are envisaged for and whose financing will be supported by Adaptation Fund under UN, it was said in the communication of the Ministry in charge, it is reported by the Government of FBiH Office for Public Relations.
